Town Democratic Committee Elects Delegates to Attend State Convention

The Westminster Democratic Town Committee held a caucus at the American Legion Hall on Saturday, February 13. Attendees signed nomination papers for several candidates including Governor Deval Patrick; Lt. Governor Tim Murray; Congressman John Olver; Attorney General Martha Coakley; State Senator Jennifer Flanagan; Guy Glodis, Suzanne Bump, and Michael Lake for Auditor; and Steve Grossman for Treasurer. Senator Jen Flanagan was in attendance, as well as representatives for the Glodis and Coakley campaigns, to get nomination signatures.
The caucus elected Emily Bergeron, Barbara Friedman, and Ken Marien to be delegates and Ceil and Phil Burgess to be alternates. As chair of the Democratic Town Committee, Kim Caisse is an ex-officio delegate.
The State Democratic Convention will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, June 5. Delegates will get to nominate candidates for a variety of offices. If anyone is interested in being a youth, minority, or disabled add-on delegate at the State Democratic Convention, applications must be sumitted by April 5.
