Overlook Middle School Citizen of the Term

Overlook Middle School has a Citizen of the Term program that recognizes students who set a good example for others. The Citizen of the Term students are selected by their team and enrichment teachers. They must meet the following guidelines to be nominated for Citizen of the Term. They must have a 75% average or above in all academic and enrichment classes. Students are eligible for nomination by their teachers if they have not received any detentions during the term that they are being nominated, they have good attendance during the term and have volunteered within the school community. They must also demonstrate effort, positive behavior and leadership among their peers.The following students have been awarded Citizen of the Term for the first term at Overlook Middle School:
 
Grade 6 Team Blue: Bethany Sefakis
Grade 6 Team Green: Jennifer Aubuchon
Grade 7 Team Navy: Abbi LaRoche
Grade 7 Team Red: Connor Wells
Grade 8 Team Orange: Elizabeth Dugas
Grade 8 Team White: Sierra Vachon
Enrichment Team: Liam Gorman
  
 
Congratulations to the students who have been chosen for first term Citizens.  You truly make a difference at Overlook and in your communities.  Keep up the great work!
 

Jennifer Aubuchon
Team 6 Green is proud to recognize Jennifer Aubuchon as Citizen of the Term. Jennifer exemplifies what an active, engaged student is like. Jenn has always been a sports enthusiast actively participating in dance, gymnastics and field hockey. After school, Jenn helps out at her mom’s daycare reading stories, and playing games with the children. In her spare time, Jenn enjoys watching movies like the Grinch and hanging out with her friends. In the future, Jenn hopes to go to college and work with animals. Great job, Jenn!
 
 
Bethany Sefakis
Team 6 Blue is very excited to recognize Bethany Sefakis as Citizen of the Term. Bethany is a caring person, always looking out for the well being of others. She is an involved student actively participating in Circle of Friends. Her hobbies include piano and writing. Bethany often writes fictional stories for herself and her family. The person who inspires Bethany the most is her mom. Her mom often tells Bethany that she can do anything she puts her mind to. In the future, Bethany hopes to go to college and become a teacher. Congratulations Bethany!
 

 

Abbi LaRoche

Team 7 Navy is thrilled to recognize Abbi LaRoche as Citizen of the Term. Abbi is a hard worker and does her best inside and outside of school. Abbi likes school and is enthusiastic about learning. Abbi is always happy and likes to think about things in a positive way. Outside of school, Abbi participates in dance, softball, Project Write and Relay for Life in honor of her father. Supporting Relay for Life is a great honor for both Abbi and her family. Abbi is also an avid Yankees fan, but don’t hold that against her. In the future, Abbi hopes to graduate from high school and go to college. Congratulations Abbi!


 

 

 

Connor Wells

Team 7 Red is happy to recognize Connor Wells as Citizen of the Term. Connor is an articulate, organized, goal driven individual who loves sports and being an active part of our community. Connor plays many sports including basketball, baseball and soccer. Connor’s favorite sport is basketball. He is also a huge fan of the Chicago Bears. Connor’s favorite subject is math and he can also be found helping out other students as a classroom tutor and a group leader. In the future, Conner hopes to go to college in Texas and play for the Longhorns. Excellent work, Connor!


 

 

 
Sierra Vachon
Team 8 White is  delighted to recognize Sierra Vachon as Citizen of the Term. Sierra is an outstanding member of our community. She participates in Spirit Council, Kids on the Block and drama. Sierra can often be found helping out in Mrs Hertel-Therrien’s classroom or doing classroom jobs. Outside of school, Sierra is involved in her church and volunteers at a local elderly home. Sierra also finds time to play soccer, basketball, track and the saxophone. Sierra loves school, animals and her family. Sierra also loves to rock out to music and spend time hanging out with her friends. In the future, Sierra hopes to become a Hollywood actress and attend Julliard School of Theatre in New York. Great Job, Sierra!
 
 
 
Elizabeth Dugas
Team 8 Orange is pleased to recognize Elizabeth Dugas as Citizen of the Term. Despite being at Overlook for just a short time, Liz has become a positive influence in class and is always participating, giving 110 percent. Liz is also very active within the school community participating in Project Write, drama and chorus. Liz also volunteers to work at the school store and plays the drums in the school band. Outside of school, Liz is a member of the Bio Chem. Club, an active member of her church and is a Counselor in Training at Extended Day during the summer. Awesome job, Liz!

 
 
Liam Gorman
The Enrichment team is glad to recognize Liam Gorman from Team 6 Blue. Liam is the type of student who is tops in everything he does. He has a positive attitude and a winning smile. During gym class, Liam often put equipment away without being asked and always showed a helping hand to his peers with encouragement and care. Liam plays sports all year round. His favorite sport is football and he is a big fan of the Chicago Bears. Liam values academics and enjoys ELA and social studies. In the future, Liam hopes to go to UConn or Boise State College. He also hopes to play football for these colleges and start his own football team. Excellent work, Liam!
