Movie Review: When In Rome
reviewed by: Lynn Breau
“When In Rome”, Directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Kristen Bell plays Beth, a woman who has continually been unlucky in love. Her work as a Manhattan museum curator has become her life. Beth has to travel to Italy for 2 days for her sister’s wedding so while there she decides to tempt fate by fishing coins out of the “fountain of love”. Local superstitions prevail and the coins in her possession cause those who tossed them in the fountain to fall in love with her. Although Josh Duhamel, who plays Nick, a former jock, falls for her prior to her fountain escapade, the story itself is weak and predictable. There are some big names in this flick like Angelica Huston, Danny Devito, Don Johnson and Peggy Lipton, but even their presence doesn’t give this movie enough to hang on to.
I give this movie
