2012

'2012' is one of those movies that relies on the huge earthquakes, eye catching explosion, and the total destruction of everything scenes rather than to tell a good story. You can obviously tell that Roland Emmerich, (who also directed Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow) spent most of the 250 Million dollars on the eye catching special effects rather than spending it on decent writers.
The story line was sloppy and incomplete, and had no direction. It relied solely on the special effects and the hype of doomsday with no real plot. Don't get me wrong, I love disaster movies. I just like them to have one with a decent story or even good acting. There were so many over the top, unrealistic, corny "heroic" scenes and way too many barely escaping scenes like a limo out running a 10.5 earthquake or a small plane out flying a huge volcano, you almost had to laugh at how ridiculous it was.
If you want my advice, wait for it to come out on DVD or even HBO. Don’t waste your $10.00.
